Twilight Tours at the Campbell House: Presented by the Mourning Society of St. Louis

Back by pop­u­lar demand, Hal­loween Twi­light Tours with the Mourning
Soci­ety of St. Louis!

Expe­ri­ence the mag­nif­i­cent peri­od rooms of the Camp­bell House dimmed
to gaslight bright­ness and draped for mourn­ing. Guests get the unique
oppor­tu­ni­ty see the Camp­bell House at night and learn about Victorian
mourn­ing cus­toms. Mourn­ing Soci­ety mem­bers will even be in
appro­pri­ate mourn­ing dress. Wit­ness Robert Camp­bel­l’s 1879 wake and
funer­al in the par­lor; hear about the process of prepar­ing the
deceased for bur­ial; see Vic­to­ri­an mourn­ing dress and eti­quette and
learn about the 19th Cen­tu­ry ceme­ter­ies of St. Louis.

Tick­ets are $20 for the pub­lic and $10 for CHM mem­bers. Mem­bers please

6:00 , 6:15, 6:30, 6:45, 7:00, 7:15, 7:30, 7:45 and 8:00

Halloween Twilight Tours and Snap Apple Night

See the par­lor dressed for mourn­ing and hear about mourn­ing cus­toms, explore the Muse­um after dark and learn about the ancient cus­toms and folk­lore sur­round­ing Snap-Apple Night, an old Scots-Irish tra­di­tion cel­e­brat­ing Hal­loween. A Vic­to­ri­an mourn­ing dress will be in spe­cial dis­play for the event.

Cost: $15 per per­son, mem­bers are $5,  reser­va­tion required. Please make a reser­va­tion below by select­ing one of the five tour times. Each tour will last approx­i­mate­ly 90 min­utes. Free park­ing avail­able in the YMCA lot.
